The 27 letters of the alphabet are the protagonists of a poetic and playful proposal for pre-readers and first readers by the creators of the collection From the cradle to the moon. This work represents a further step with respect to the well-known poems.
Antonio Rubio presents rhymed texts of three verses in which, from A to Z, each graphic sign is defined with a quality or similarity to various objects. Óscar Villán gives shape to each definition, with recognizable illustrations on light backgrounds: people, fruits, animals, everyday objects... "Letter Game" implicitly pays homage to the greguerías of Ramón Gómez de la Serna for the brevity and humor of the ingeniously drawn relationships between the active subject and the associated element.
The repetitive structure favors a safe environment that invites the adult mediators and the little recipients of the recitation to continue the game with their own rhymes. The texts, in capital letters, facilitate the initiation to reading the first words, with their directionality. And the format of the book, made of hard cardboard with die-cut windows behind which the texts are found, is ideal for direct handling by boys and girls, in addition to contributing to the development of psychomotor skills.
The poetic game is also extended on a graphic level through large letters and colorful ideograms so that readers can recognize - guided by a friendly vocal caterpillars and consonants in the physiognomy of fun figures; a dynamic that can transcend the book itself to become extensible to the plane of reality, stimulating imagination and visual acuity.
