A flood floods the forest and its inhabitants will have to seek shelter. The little fox offers to look for food and water, but the group does not believe in his abilities or his intentions.

“After the Rain” is a modern fable about overcoming adversity, adapting to the environment and collaborating with each other for the survival of the collective. A flood floods the forest and its inhabitants will have to survive in an improvised shelter. A little fox offers to look for food and water, but the group does not believe in his abilities - or his intentions - and entrusts these tasks to other animals.

In the work awarded with the VIII Compostela International Illustrated Album Prize, solidarity and teamwork are present in the search for the common good, which does not depend on luxury, but on essential - and even immaterial - elements to meet basic needs.

In a deeper reading, the fox - identified in literature and popular culture as a cunning and deceptive being - motivates the distrust of his companions, whom this character will end up surprising with a valuable contribution that exceeds everyone's expectations. The protagonist of this story touches us with his innocence when he -naively- tries to achieve the unattainable.

Miguel Cerro presents a story developed from the meticulous study of the characters, the structure of the classic story and the composition of the perspectives. The prominence of nature and the chromatic contrasts before and after the storm, or between day and night, stand out.
